BESUT: A teenager’s first date turned into a nightmare when she was gang-raped by three youths on Sunday. The victim from Kampung Kayu Kelat, Jertih was earlier picked up from her home by her boyfriend at 5.30pm and taken to an oil palm estate near the La Hot Spring recreational park. There they were met by two other teenagers, who took turns raping the Form Four student before taking her home at 10pm. The victim related the incident to her mother before lodging a report at the Pasir Akar police station the following day. She was then taken to the Besut Hospital for a medical examination. Following the report, three 19-year-old suspects were picked up at their homes in Kampung Nibong, Hulu Terengganu.
‘Allah’ inscription on meat astounds villagers

ALOR SETAR: Villagers flocked to a house in Kampung Alur Gunung here where meat bearing the word “Allah” in Arabic was discovered.
Housewife Rashadah Abdul Rani, 57, whose daughter discovered the inscription, said her son had bought the meat from a market in the village yesterday.
“I asked him (son) to buy a kilogram of meat at the market to prepare for our sahur meal for the Syawal ”Enam” fast (optional fasting after Ramadan).
“I cut the meat into six pieces and soaked them in the water. It was my daughter, who was helping me in the kitchen, who saw the word ”Allah” on all six pieces of the meat,” she told reporters at her house here today.
Rashadah said she planned to dry the meat and keep it or use it for medicinal purposes. – Bernama
Horny ghost on the prowl in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, Sep 18 : A horny orang minyak, which is supposed to be a ghost in Malay culture, is said to be terrorising about 300 families in Sungai Petani, picking homes where there are young women.
According to Kosmo!, Nurshahirah, 17, revealed that she was awakened at 5.40am on September 14 after she felt a warm sensation on her left ear, and when she opened her eyes she saw an apparition with curly hair and thick moustache standing by her bed.
“I was even more shocked when the ghost took off his kain pelikat and started to fondle himself,” the Star Online quoted her as saying.
Nurshahirah, who lives in Taman Keladi, said she felt powerless to ward off the apparition who started to grope her body, and that it was as though a charm had been placed on her.
In another incident, housewife Fatimah, 42, revealed she heard her two daughters crying out when they were woken up at 5am by dark apparitions that molested them.
Her 15-year-old daughter told her that she had been “violated” by a ghost.
“At first I thought she was talking in her sleep but she insisted that she was molested by a ghost before it moved to the kitchen,” Fatimah said.
She said her 14-year-old, too, cried and ran from the living room, saying a dark apparition had molested her.
“My 14-year-old daughter said she managed to kick the ghost who wore a kain pelikat and black singlet when she felt her body being touched,” she revealed.
“She screamed and the ghost ran out of her room,” she added.
Fatimah said she gave chase with a parang but the apparition disappeared.
She also said the apparition could have placed a charm on her family because none of the neighbours heard her daughters’ screams.

Girl, 9, molested by stranger in bus

KUANTAN: The trip home from school on Wednesday turned into a nightmare for a 9-year-old girl who claimed that a stranger in the bus had molested her. In the 1pm incident, the girl was among six passengers who boarded the bus from Pekan heading to Kuantan. A stranger then approached her and started a conversation. When the victim ignored him, he went closer to her, hugged her and fondled her private part. Fearing for her safety, the victim began to cry and got down from the bus at a relative’s foodstall in Batu 6, Jalan Gambang here. She related her ordeal to her aunt, who immediately lodged a police report at the district police station. State CID chief, Assistant Commissioner T.Narenasagaran said the victim, who was the fourth of five siblings, did not dare to shout for help as she had panicked and feared the suspect would harm her. He added the victim claimed she could not recognise the suspect.

Wife splashes acid on cheating hubby
JOHOR BARU: A policeman was badly injured when his estranged wife splashed him with acid after she found him with his girlfriend at his home in Nusajaya. It is believed the wife, who is in the process of filing for a divorce, found her husband and the girlfriend in a compromising position when she entered the house at 4.30pm yesterday. The policeman, a constable in his 20s attached to the Nusajaya district headquarters, and the girlfriend were warded at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital. He suffered burns on the chest and body while the girlfriend sustained minor injuries. The wife, in her 20s, has been detained. Nusajaya OCPD Supt Abd Aziz Ahmad confirmed the incident.
Cleaner dies in fall

GEORGE TOWN: A cleaner was killed when he and his colleague fell from the ninth floor of Federal House in Jalan Anson yesterday when they were attacked by bees. Othman Yusoff, 54, of Sungai Petani died on the spot after falling from the gondola while his colleague suffered serious injuries. The man’s name was not available at press time. Northeast district police chief Assistant Commissioner Azam Abdul Hamid said a third worker, also in the gondola, sustained serious injuries but did not fall off. Azam said the trio were cleaning the building’s glass panes when the gondola accidentally struck a hornet’s nest at 12.30pm. Othman and his colleague fell off while trying to fend off the insects. The third worker was brought down by firemen.

TANJUNG KARANG: Tan Chu Mou could only watch as her son ran to his death at his brother’s fish processing factory in Bagan Pasir yesterday. The 63-year-old tried to stop Lim Kean Chew, 35, from doing so, but he shrugged off his mother’s fears and ran off to try to save his brother Lim Kean Boon’s two Bangladeshi employees. Kean Chew and three others managed to carry the two men out but then, to Tan’s horror, all four collapsed. “I told Kean Chew not to enter as there was leaking gas but he still went in as he wanted to save his workers. “I saw my son collapse and I screamed for help. I am devastated by his death,” she said at the Tanjung Karang Hospital mortuary. Tan said her son had just replaced the pipes of the factory’s cooling system compressor three months ago. Lim’s wife worked in Klang and the couple have three children. Kamal Mirza, the cousin of Mumin Mia, one of the dead Bangladeshis, said he was told of the incident by a friend who lived near the factory. He said the last time he saw Mumin was on July 1 and he had asked Kamal to help him send money home once he had received his August salary. “Mumin was still single and he worked in Johor Baru before. He had worked here only for the past seven months. “I will report his death to our embassy and his body will be sent home to our village in Dhaka.” Lim Gee Geat, whose father Lim Kim Soon also died in the incident, said his father had gone to the factory after hearing someone shout for help. “Our house is only about 100m from the factory. When my father went to have a look, I saw him fall unconscious,” he said.

Five In Family Perish In Horror Crash
MARAN, July 26 (Bernama) — A family of five including a 10 month-old baby boy were killed when their car was rammed into by a container lorry in Jalan Maran-Kuantan here on Sunday. The victims were identified as driver Nasarudin Abd Aziz, 33, wife Fatmawati Harun, 30, her mother Sepiah Mohamad,60, brother Mohd Syakirin, 23, and ten month-old son Muhammad Nazhif. Nasarudin was a junior assistant at SMK Felda Purun, Triang, while Fatmawati was a teacher at SK Felda Purun, said Maran police chief DSP Ahmad Johari Shahabudin. He said the crash occured when the container lorry laden with empty gas tanks heading for Kuantan skidded and went to the other side of the road and crashed into the oncoming Kenari. “In the tragedy at 1.30pm, the container lorry dragged the Kenari for about 80 metres. The family of five from Felda Jengka 5 were killed on the spot.” Ahmad Johari said the five died from multiple serious injuries while the lorry driver, 39, fractured a leg while the attendant, 17, escaped injuries. The five bodies were sent to Jengka Hospital for post-mortems while the container lorry driver and attendant were treated at Sultan Ahmad Shah Hospital, Temerloh. Meanwhehile, Fatmawati’s brother Alias Harun, 43, when met at Jengka Hospital mortuary said step father Wan Jaafar Wan Jusoh informed him of the accident at 2pm. Alias said he last talked to Fatmawati at 5am before leaving for work at Bera police station and that there was nothing strange about her behaviour. The family of five had gone out for lunch as Fatmawati who was three months pregnant was too tired to cook.
